Verbal ability for aptitude rounds and email-writing tasks: reading comprehension strategy, then grammar worth marks — subject–verb agreement, tenses, articles and prepositions, modifiers and parallelism, sentence correction and phrase replacement.
Vocabulary is covered through synonyms and antonyms, one-word substitution, idioms and spelling errors; paragraph logic through para jumbles, para completion, cloze tests and fill in the blanks; and verbal reasoning through analogies, classification and logical sequence of words. Each topic includes the rule, the trap, and graded practice.
English sections in TCS NQT, Infosys, Cognizant and Accenture tests carry their own cutoff, and several companies add an email or essay-writing task that is scored on grammar and structure. It is the section students skip and then fail on, despite it being the quickest to fix.

Read the questions first, skim for structure, then read closely only the paragraph that holds the answer. Practising two passages a day under a timer moves the score fastest.
Subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, prepositions, articles, modifier placement and parallelism cover most sentence-correction questions.
It is scored on keyword coverage, grammar, sentence variety and length rather than creativity, so a rehearsed structure with the given prompts included scores well.
