Quantitative aptitude built for timed tests: number system and divisibility, HCF and LCM, remainders and unit digits, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, profit and loss, interest, time and work, pipes and cisterns, time speed and distance, boats and streams, mixtures and ages.
The second half covers equations and inequalities, progressions, permutations and combinations, probability, logarithms, geometry and mensuration, and data interpretation across tables, bar and line graphs, pie charts and caselets. Every topic lists the formulas worth memorising, the shortcut, the common trap, and easy-to-hard practice sets.
Quant usually has the strictest sectional cutoff and the tightest time budget in placement aptitude tests, so it eliminates more candidates than any other section. Shortcuts matter here: the difference between the formula method and the ratio method is often twenty seconds per question.

Percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, time and work, and time–speed–distance. They appear directly and also underpin data interpretation questions.
Around 45–60 seconds in most placement tests. If a question crosses 90 seconds, mark and move — the section rewards coverage over completeness.
A short core list, yes — percentage-to-fraction conversions, squares up to 30, work and speed relations. The rest is better recalled through solved patterns than raw memorisation.
